Mostly working now on the use of science to influence sound resource management and policy decision-making; much experience in research on Great Lakes limnology and fisheries, zooplankton ecology, eutrophication, toxic contaminants, invasive species, and habitat restoration.
The summer field station setting brings out the best quality and enthusiasm in students; the high productivity and biodiversity in the Lake Erie islands area is ideal for teaching and research.
Growing organic veggies and fruits, bird watching, hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, and volunteer environmental monitoring.
I’m a super biological field station “fan.” I have taken classes and taught at five of them and visited many more.
