Costs associated with attending Stone Laboratory include tuition, room and meals, and a laboratory fee of $40 (with some exceptions). Other costs from Ohio State may include health insurance, application and acceptance fees.
Tuition is based on the current Ohio State University tuition rates and is subject to change. Students must receive permission from their college office before registering for more than 20 hours.

Students are required to live in Stone Laboratory housing on Gibraltar Island and sign a contract for the time they will be there. Accommodations are available for single men and women, limited housing may be available for married students, and no housing is available for children
The dining commons provides 20 meals each week. Because of the remote location and small kitchen staff, separate menus cannot be provided to accommodate special diets.

Students must have health insurance to be enrolled at Stone Laboratory.
Students enrolled for at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during a quarter are eligible to purchase insurance from Ohio State’s Health Service. The per-quarter cost of $515 for comprehensive coverage includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision. View insurance program details at shi.osu.edu.
All visitors to Stone Lab are responsible for their own transportation to the Bayview Office on South Bass Island. Information on ferry transportation to South Bass can be found at Miller Ferry and Jet Express websites.
All books and supplies required for classes at Stone Lab can be purchased in the bookstore on Gibraltar Island. Cost will vary depending on course load, but the average student pays about $100 per class.
